Combining the strengths of Central CPD’s clinical training with Vet Dynamics personal and commercial skills development to form a unique 12-month programme that is all-encompassing: helping to support new veterinary surgeons with not only solid clinical skills but a healthy mindset and good time and client management.

The Vet Graduate Academy’s clinical provision will provide graduates with improved case management and practical skills whilst supporting progress through the VetGDP EPAs, with bespoke online training programmes, specialist-led case discussions, surgical, dental and ultrasound practical courses as well as access to over 2,500 clinical CPD videos.

Vet Dynamics will provide the strength and support to help promote a successful transition to the practice environment, increase business awareness, team working skills and professional confidence. By helping graduates become confident and independent in their skills, the academy delivers for both the attendee and practice, and allows independent practices to compete against the larger corporate offerings in the recruitment of graduates.

Hands-On Training

Small group cadaver-based practical courses held in our purpose-built clinical skills lab, tailor-made for graduates and led by our approachable and experienced specialists.
2-day practical surgery course – to improve surgical techniques and confidence in common small animal surgical cases.
1-day practical dentistry course – to strengthen decision-making ability and skill-set in dental cases and procedures.
1-day practical ultrasound course – a focus on basic abdominal ultrasound skills to improve diagnostic capability in internal medicine and ECC.

Specialist Led Case Discussions

Regular live specialist led case discussion sessions – case presentations to understand an expert’s approach to common cases, and the opportunity to discuss personal cases within the group.
Closed social media Vet Graduate Academy group to discuss cases with other Graduates.
Access to Central CPD’s closed Facebook case discussion group with over 5,000 vet members, offering regular posts and advice.

On-Demand Clinical Learning

A structured EPA-based 50-hour online training programme which will provide core valuable knowledge that can be accessed any time in any order as needed over the 12-month programme.
Unlimited access to Central CPD On-Demand, providing 24-7 access to over 2,500 videos.
A wide variety of clinical lectures, how-to videos and practical tips, that can be used as a useful reference library for clinical cases or to concentrate on areas of interest.

Personal and Commercial Skills Development

3 x 2-day workshops:
Mindset & Planning, Energy & Time Management, Improving Personal & Interpersonal Performance, Assertiveness & Emotional Intelligence, Understanding Finance in Practice, Managing Performance & Client Care
Providing skill development in areas such as professional resilience, communication, and commercial awareness.
Learning tools to help combat the key causes of stress and fatigue in practice, build confidence and professional esteem.
Understanding of the business-workings of a practice which, together with non-clinical skills, help to improve clinical standards, consultation delivery and profitability in practice.
1-1 coaching

November 2023 Intake (£7,000 +VAT)

Initial deposit of £1,000 + VAT required at registration via Direct Debit, followed by 6 monthly instalments of £1,000 + VAT commencing at the start of the course.

All practices that reserve a space on the Veterinary Graduate Academy will be able to display the Veterinary Graduate Academy logo in job listings to demonstrate to potential new Graduate employees that they will be well supported by the Practice and have access to a bespoke structured programme throughout their first year. If desired, Central CPD may pass on details to Graduates who are interested in applying for roles with Practices that register for The Vet Graduate Academy.

An absolutely great location for in person CPD. The facilities are clean and well looked after. All the staff were friendly and very accommodating. They were quick to respond to emails and attentive on the day. The refreshments and lunches provided were delicious and the constant coffee was perfect for my caffeine addiction! I attended the dental course for nurses and it was such a brilliant course. Stacey the speaker was super knowledgeable and personalised the day according to our needs. The lab had everything to support the theory we learnt over the day. I can’t wait to book another course with them! Cant recommend enough.
