Pain management is an important part of the veterinary nurse’s role in practice. Nurses are in a unique position to be able to recognise pain and advocate for our patients to ensure they get treatment when they need it. Good analgesia will improve your patients wellbeing, reduce post operative complications and improve patient outcomes. No one wants to see a patient in pain. There have been many advances in how we recognize and treat pain in small animals in recent years.
