Turlough graduated from University College Dublin (UCD) in 1987. After a couple of years in practice in Ireland moved to Australia working in a number of institutional. Becoming a Member of the Australian College Of Veterinary Scientists by examination in 1999. This was followed by a Masters in Veterinary Studies and a Small Animal Surgical Residency at Melbourne university 1997-2000. I returned to the UK as a lecturer in Small Animal Surgery at the university of Liverpool from 2000 to 2006. During this period I completed the royal collage certificate in Small Animal Surgery and becoming a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgery. I moved to private referral practice in Yorkshire. After a year spent in the north East I moved to the North West and eventually back to Yorkshire.

Currently I am working as a referral Veterinary orthopaedic surgeon at Paragon Veterinary Referrals in Wakefield.
