After graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 1998, Sheila spent five years in small animal practice before undertaking an FAB Residency in Feline Medicine at the University of Bristol, which she completed in 2006. Sheila then worked as a Small Animal Medicine consultant for 11years leading the medicine departments at the Animal Health Trust and Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists as well as offering a small animal medicine advisory service for Idexx and Axiom veterinary laboratories. She returned to the Feline Centre at Bristol Veterinary School to undertake a one-year feline medicine lectureship post before taking up an academic post as the director of a veterinary examination body in the UK. She is now a freelance feline medicine consultant and greatly enjoys supporting ISFM in their feline charity mission. She is an EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine, an RCVS Specialist in Feline Medicine and a member of the ISFM Academy of Feline Practitioners. She has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally on all aspect of Feline Medicine and has a special interest in Cat Friendly Practice and feline renal and ureteric disease.
