Rob qualified from the RVC in 1996 having previously completed a BSc in Physiology and Pharmacology at King’s College London in 1992. After a four-year period in mixed general practice he joined the medicine service at Cambridge Veterinary School as a resident and completed his residency in 2003.

He obtained his RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Medicine in 2003, his ECVIM diploma in 2005 and is a recognised European Specialist in Internal Medicine.

At present Rob is head of the Small Animal Internal Medicine service at Dick White Referrals in Suffolk and an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham Veterinary School, with active research programmes in the development of gene therapy for canine diabetes mellitus, the identification of genetic susceptibility loci in canine lymphoma and the genetic basis for canine lipomata.
