Head Transfusion Medicine Nurse - Royal Veterinary College

Charlotte graduated in 2008 from Moreton Morrell College with a Foundation degree in Veterinary Nursing and Practice Management. She worked for the next year in general practice before moving to Willows Veterinary Centre & Referral Service in 2009. During Charlotte’s five years there she gained her Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing studying medicine, intensive Care, anaesthesia and analgesia.

In 2014, Charlotte moved to the Royal Veterinary College to run the Transfusion Medicine Service and Blood Donor Programme. The service has expanded significantly over the last 8 years and is now one of the busiest veterinary transfusion services in the world and Charlotte is the head nurse for a team of 3 transfusion medicine nurses and a transfusion assistant.

She has lectured, contributed to transfusion medicine research and also authored a chapter in the Manual of Veterinary Transfusion Medicine and Blood Banking. Charlotte has always found transfusion medicine fascinating and extremely rewarding, over the years she has developed a passion for feline transfusion medicine and donor welfare.
