  • Description

Over 20 hours of CPD for just £195

In today's bustling veterinary practices, veterinary care assistants and other supporting roles are increasingly relied upon to assist the team with the smooth running of the veterinary clinic.

This interactive one-day course aims to broaden skills for all VCAs, expanding upon key knowledge and expertise required for everyday general practice, and enhancing confidence to allow VCAs to provide gold-standard patient care and support to the clinical team.

Through a blend of theory and hands-on sessions, participants will explore the significant role they play in practice, increasing their competence in core areas. VCAs are well placed to quickly recognise signs of fear and stress in our patients, so particular emphasis will be placed on equipping them with techniques to create patient-friendly hospital environments. Delegates will increase their understanding of the impact of stress and gain confidence to implement changes that address not only patients' medical needs but also their emotional wellbeing.

By the end of the course, VCAs will emerge equipped to support their practice teams effectively and provide exemplary care to their patients, whilst feeling empowered to excel in their roles and find their niche within the veterinary profession.

    Topics to be covered include:

    • Understanding animal behaviour and creating stress-free hospital environments, including patient-friendly handling techniques
    • Infection control and quality improvement
    • Client care and emotional support
    • Practical skills and monitoring techniques
    • Tips on how to foster your niche and passion points in practice

By booking onto this course you will also gain access to Central CPD On-Demand’s VCA Academy online learning series, giving you an
additional 17 hours of further study usually worth £120+VAT.
