Nursing the Endocrine Patient
Endocrine diseases are some of the most common long-term medical conditions we see in practice.
Vet Nurses play a key role in caring for endocrine patients, from assisting with examination and diagnostic sample collection, to providing inpatient care, providing client advice and performing nurse consultations.
This course will explore the most common endocrine diseases seen in dogs and cats – diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, Cushing’s and Addison’s disease.
Anaesthesia for Nurses: Monitoring the Unstable Patient
Patients can quickly become unstable during anaesthesia and it can be a challenge to correctly interpret vital parameters and chose the correct approach to stabilise them.
This one-day course is designed to provide you with the skills to confidently monitor even the most unstable of anaesthetics by discussing how to use equipment commonly found in general practice as well as hands on monitoring, to assess not only depth of anaesthesia but also your patient’s circulation, oxygenation and ventilation status.
*T&Cs apply: Offer excludes redemption of any Academy Learning Series’.
