Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) has become a preferred method for stabilizing the canine stifle after a cranial cruciate rupture. This course is designed for the veterinarian who wishes to learn/refine the TTA technique and to understand the major advantages of the XGEN “forkless” TTA system.

    In the morning session, we will begin by focusing on the pathophysiology of cranial cruciate ligament disease, along with patient selection, planning, and surgical technique.

    This course is designed to be highly practical, offering participants the opportunity to practice the technique twice—first on a saw bone and then in the wet lab.

    What to expect

    Live lecture and wet lab

    This laboratory will thoroughly review the biomechanics of TTA, preoperative planning techniques, postoperative management/ rehabilitation and how best to prevent and treat postoperative complications. The TTA operative technique will be taught in a step-by-step fashion with the assistance of intraoperative videos, and practice on canine cadavers. Simultaneous correction of patella luxation will also be reviewed. This lab is only for veterinarians who already have a thorough knowledge of the relevant stifle anatomy, extensive stifle surgery experience, and prior training in bone plating techniques and principles.
