This course is a full day at Central CPD in London designed to demonstrate the implants and instruments and to teach the different applications of the products. The course will cover hip luxation, patellar and achilles tendon repair (patellar; dry bone only).
Lectures will be followed by cadaver-based wet lab sessions, with the opportunity to practise techniques on dry bones beforehand.
Topics to be covered:
- Pathogenesis of tendon injuries and principles of repair
- Tendon suturing techniques/acute repair
- Common calcaneal tendon injuries
- Patellar ligament injuries
- Overview of traumatic hip luxations in dogs
- Conservative management versus surgical management of hip luxation in dogs
- Patellar ligament repair using Noveten on dry bone
- Common calcaneal tendon repair using Noveten in the wet lab
- Hip Luxation (round ligament) repair wet lab using Novalig with button
- Post operative recommendations
