This two day highly practical course will cover the principles and decision making involved in surgical oncology. We will discuss what can be done to improve surgical outcomes and look at ways to plan closure of skin deficits following excision of tumours in various locations. The two days will include a significant amount of time spend in cadaver based practical sessions, enabling delegates to practice skin flaps and closure techniques and look at different ways of managing skin tension.

  • Oncology surgery – principles and what can be achieved
  • Planning surgical procedures and decision making for oncology surgery
  • Options for closure of skin deficits and management of tension
  • Useful skin flaps and full thickness free skin grafts
