The emergency patient can be a stressful presentation in practice; requiring prompt triage and stabilisation. Nurses can play a pivotal role in ensuring these patients are dealt with in a controlled, effective and efficient manner from initial assessment at triage through emergency stabilisation and ultimately in the specific management of their condition.

This series of nine videos with Nicola Lakeman will enable you to perform a complete and thorough triage examination, make decisions on oxygen therapy requirements and be able to confidently implement fluid therapy and blood transfusion plans; whilst providing you with a clear understanding of shock and transfusion medicine.
