BVA Launches Vision For “Hub-and-Spoke” Vet Profession

Posted 2 years ago

The BVA has launched a vision for the future of the profession, where vets sit at the centre of a treatment “hub” and direct patients to “allied professionals” such as RVNs, official auxiliaries/meat hygiene inspectors, embryo transfer technicians, equine dental technicians, foot trimmers, farriers, hydrotherapists, animal behaviourists and veterinary physiotherapists.

The association says the vet-led “hub-and-spoke” model would see vets coordinate services for clients and patients, with the aim of improving overall animal health, animal welfare and public health.
